Recap: Freeman Flyers vs. Hanson Beavers
After flying high against the Gregory Gorillas on Monday, the Freeman Flyers came back down to earth. Freeman took a hard 58-44 fall against Hanson on Tuesday. Freeman was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hanson apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Several Flyers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rylee Peters, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Cami Fransen, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Freeman's defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for Hanson, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
Freeman's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wall at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Wall has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 624 points over their last nine games. As for Hanson, they will be playing at home against Belle Fourche at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Hanson is ranked 25th, while Belle Fourche is ranked 34th).
