Volleyball Recap: Lowell's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but Lowell unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Kankakee Valley Kougars, falling 3-0. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Kougars when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lowell took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Dafne Aguilar-Martinez and Emily Aguilar, who picked up six kills apiece. Aguilar-Martinez really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with nine. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Lowell's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Kankakee Valley, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Lowell has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Illiana Christian on the 3rd. Kankakee Valley has also already played their next game (against Highland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
