Recap: La Plata Bulldogs vs. Meadville Eagles
The La Plata Bulldogs have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through a rough 76-28 loss at the hands of Meadville. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points La Plata has scored all season.
Meadville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Carvajal, who almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carvajal has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Korrie Holcer, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and eight steals.
La Plata's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-3. As for Meadville, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 22-0.
La Plata will look to defend their home court on Friday against Green City at 6:00 p.m. Green City knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully La Plata likes a good challenge. As for Meadville, they will head out on the road to square off against Bucklin-Macon County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Bucklin-Macon County: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Meadville has snatched up 21 consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
