Basketball Recap: Robert Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Deland over Atlantic

DeLand lost against Atlantic back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The DeLand Bulldogs took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Atlantic Sharks. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while the Sharks are ranked 123rd).

DeLand's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robert Davis, who posted ten points. Justin Suarez was another key player, putting up ten points.

DeLand's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Atlantic, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

DeLand didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-48 defeat against Winter Springs on the 29th. As for Atlantic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-56 loss against Mainland on the 30th.
