Softball Recap: Carbon Hill Wins Going Away Against Dora

Carbon Hill had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 13-19 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over Dora. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Carbon Hill got a great performance from Jayla Perry as she pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. The dominant performance also gave Perry a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Brittany Parker was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Raelea Guy was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

As for Dora, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-19. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

On Dora's side, Lillian McKinney was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Carbon Hill will be playing in front of their home fans against Haleyville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dora, they will square off against Cordova at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
