Baseball Recap: Triton Regional Vikings vs. Pentucket Regional

Triton Regional extended their losing streak to nine on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 7-12 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Pentucket Regional. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Pentucket Regional this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 two weeks ago.

As for Pentucket Regional, they pushed their record up to 10-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Pentucket Regional's part, Luke Pergola spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits. Pergola is becoming a predictor of Pentucket Regional's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is undefeated (and 7-10 when he doesn't).
