Important Keys to Healthy Eating
Nancy Clarks "Sports Nutrition Guidebook: is an excellent resource for every athlete. Her opening chapter talks about having a good plan for nutrition no matter what sport you are in. Its important to have variety in your diet to ensure important nutrients are not left out.
Clark recommends that you "...try eating different types of cereals for breakfast, different types of sandwiches and breads for lunch, and lots of different colorful vegetables...eating 3 different kinds of foods at a meal and 35 different types of foods per week."
Variety is key to all aspects of performance whether your training for the next iron man or preparing for your next football game. Having a stale diet can lead to overeating or binging on the wrong foods. A combination of good foods will ensure that important nutrients are not left out.
