Softball Recap: Woodson Drops Season-High Score on Alexandria City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodson). They came out on top against the Alexandria City Titans by a score of 11-8 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Cavaliers: when they faced off against the Titans back in March, they had to take a 12-9 defeat.

Maia Kim was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Stella Leisenring also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Woodson's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Alexandria City, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodson will square off against West Potomac at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Alexandria City, they will challenge Wakefield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
