Football Recap: Bogue Chitto Takes a Loss

Bogue Chitto lost against Loyd Star back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bobcats were beaten by the Hornets 35-7.

Alex Roberts threw for 56 yards and one touchdown. Manny Connerly was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Jayden Poole rushed for 90 yards.

It was another big night for Jordyn Kees, who rushed for 284 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.1 yards per carry for Loyd Star. Kees is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

Bogue Chitto's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Loyd Star, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bogue Chitto will welcome Puckett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Loyd Star, they will be playing at home against Crystal Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
