Basketball Game Preview: Columbus Falcons vs. Starkville Yellowjackets + Official Tickets

The Columbus Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Starkville Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Columbus was fully in charge, breezing past Forest Hill 71-28. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Starkville not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 17, 2024 (when they won 67-32). They claimed a resounding 74-40 victory over Neshoba Central. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Yellowjackets had established a 32-point advantage.

Starkville has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Columbus, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.

Columbus beat Starkville 45-35 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
