Softball Recap: Spring Garden Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Spring Garden can now relate to. They lost 7-1 to the Kinston Bulldogs on Thursday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

With the loss, Spring Garden broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-12-2. As for Kinston, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 38-8 record this season.

Spring Garden does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kinston, they will square off against Hackleburg at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 2.4, the Panthers 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
