Softball Recap: McKay Royal Scots vs. Corvallis Spartans
McKay extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-20 in the process. They came up short against the Corvallis Spartans, falling 11-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 28-8 back in April.
As for Corvallis, their win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-20. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25th (when they won 28-8).
For Corvallis' part, Parker Doerr was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Richardson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McKay will welcome Clackamas at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Corvallis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redhawks have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
