Basketball Recap: Madison Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Dayspring Academy back in November, Madison Academy came back down to earth. The Madison Academy Knights fell just short of the Jonathan Edwards Classical Academy Archers by a score of 44-42 on Monday. The Knights have struggled against the Archers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Jonathan Edwards Classical Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Raby, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, Raby is now averaging an impressive 8.4 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Morrow, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Madison Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Jonathan Edwards Classical Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Madison Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dayspring Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 14, 2025. As for Jonathan Edwards Classical Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Christian Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jonathan Edwards Classical Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season.
