It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Geneva ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Newark Reds 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Reds two weeks ago, they had to take a 9-8 loss.

Geneva saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Santos, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those RBI were Santos' first of the season.

Geneva was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Geneva's record now sits at 6-11. As for Newark, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
