Basketball Recap: Stafford's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Stafford was riding high fresh off their 64-33 takedown of Caroline last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Stafford Indians fell to the Colonial Forge Eagles 46-41. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Stafford lost on Tuesday, don't look at Annalise Mcconnell. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 7 en route to 16 points. Kalaia Handy was another key player, going 5 for 6 on her way to 12 points and three blocks.

Stafford's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for Colonial Forge, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Stafford will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverbend at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Riverbend will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Stafford surely won't give up without a fight.
