Volleyball Recap: Centerburg Trojans vs. Loudonville Redbirds

Centerburg entered their tilt with Loudonville on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Redbirds by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Molly Kain was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 20 digs and four aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October of 2024.

They weren't the only good server: Centerburg was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loudonville only served six aces.

Loudonville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Helaina Gray, who had six digs and three aces, and Maggie Vermilya, who had eight digs and one assist. Gray is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Centerburg's record now sits at 3-1. As for Loudonville, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Centerburg will head out to square off against Cardington-Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Loudonville, they will venture away from home to face off against West Holmes at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Redbirds are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
