Volleyball Game Preview: Matanzas Pirates vs. Winter Springs Bears + Official Tickets

The Matanzas Pirates will head out to face off against the Winter Springs Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Matanzas is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 30th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Spruce Creek. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

While Matanzas ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-21.

Matanzas' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Analise Smith, who had eight digs and seven assists, and Haley Stewart, who had 15 assists and ten digs. Stewart is also on a roll when it comes to hitting percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games she's played.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Winter Springs, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Altamonte Christian on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-21, 25-18.

Matanzas now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Winter Springs, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.
