Basketball Game Preview: North Bend Central Tigers vs. Archbishop Bergan Knights

The North Bend Central Tigers will head out to square off against the Archbishop Bergan Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Bend Central will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, it was close, but North Bend Central sidestepped Logan View/Scribner-Snyder for a 36-33 win. The squad ran away with 29 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Bergan got the win against Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Thursday by a conclusive 55-35. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

Archbishop Bergan is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for North Bend Central, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

North Bend Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Archbishop Bergan in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 51-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Bend Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
