Softball Recap: Clermont Northeastern Comes Up Short

If Clermont Northeastern was feeling good fresh off their 16-3 takedown of Georgetown last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rockets took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Williamsburg Wildcats on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Clermont Northeastern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Brown, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Clermont Northeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Williamsburg, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Clermont Northeastern will challenge Felicity-Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Williamsburg, they will square off against Withrow at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
