Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Niles North). They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Maine East Blue Demons on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Niles North is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-16-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Maine East, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-21.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Niles North will host Glenbrook North at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Maine East, they will look to defend their home field on the 24th against Payton College Prep at 10:00 a.m.
