Softball Recap: Lomira Lions vs. Oakfield Oaks
Lomira stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. Everything went their way against the Oakfield Oaks as the Lomira Lions made off with a 13-2 win. Lomira's victory was all the more impressive since Oakfield was averaging only 2.5 runs allowed on the season.
Nora Buske was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Buske was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Lomira let Taylor Bloohm and Savanna Frea loose on the outfield. Bloohm scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Frea scored two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Eleanor Collies was another key contributor, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and a triple.
The win (which was Lomira's third in a row) raised their record to 11-2. As for Oakfield, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
