Baseball Game Preview: West Trojans vs. McGregor Bulldogs

For the second straight game, West will face off against McGregor. West will be playing at home against McGregor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so McGregor's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While West's win against McGregor wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. West won by a run and slipped past McGregor 3-2.

For McGregor's part, Shaun Coleman put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Coleman was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Coleman wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Estepp, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Estepp a new career-high. Davion Coleman also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

West's victory bumped their record up to 9-5-1. As for McGregor, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-7.
