Baseball Game Preview: Kingsburg Vikings vs. Sierra Pacific Golden Bears

For the second straight game, Kingsburg will face off against Sierra Pacific. The Vikings will face off against the Golden Bears at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kingsburg's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Sierra Pacific's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Kingsburg and Sierra Pacific, and Kingsburg kept the tradition alive. The Vikings walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Golden Bears on Wednesday.

Jensen Hirschkorn made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times he's played.

Hirschkorn wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Ekizian, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Kingsburg is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sierra Pacific, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.
