Baseball Game Preview: Cypress Bay Lightning vs. Stoneman Douglas Eagles

For the second straight game, Cypress Bay will face off against Stoneman Douglas. The Lightning will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cypress Bay hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Cypress Bay heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Wednesday. They fell 3-0 to Stoneman Douglas. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Gabe Gener was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March.

At the plate, Cypress Bay saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Lirio, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
