Basketball Recap: Progreso's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Progreso needed a changed in momentum after dropping five straight games and they got it from Julio Resendez. The Progreso Red Ants took down the IDEA Robindale Aviators 62-44 on Tuesday thanks in part to Resendez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 23 boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 14 times he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Hugo Gamboa, who posted nine points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Progreso's win bumped their record up to 13-18. As for IDEA Robindale, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Progreso will host IDEA Weslaco Pike at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for IDEA Robindale, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lyford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lyford will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something IDEA Robindale surely won't give up without a fight.
