Recap: Logansport Berries vs. Kokomo Wildkats

The Logansport Berries suffered their biggest defeat since November 10, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Kokomo 54-25. While losing is never fun, Logansport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while Kokomo is ranked 165th).

Despite the loss, Logansport still got an impressive performance from Lydia Goad, who scored 16 points.

Logansport struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Aijia Elliott was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks for Kokomo. Elliott has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ma'Kaela Drake, who scored five points along with three steals.

Logansport's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-14. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for Kokomo, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Logansport will be playing at home against Rochester at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Rochester focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday. As for Kokomo, they will head out on the road to face off against Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harrison is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
