Baseball Recap: Clinton Find Success

Clinton won against Tahanto Regional on Friday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Gaels walked away with a 7-2 win over the Hudson Hawks. The Gaels haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Brian Silvester spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Grady Frisch and Ethan Frisch did most of the damage at the plate: Grady went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Ethan went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Ethan a new career-high. Liam Nelligan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Clinton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hudson struck out eight times.

Clinton's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Hudson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton will head out to face off against North Middlesex Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hudson, they will venture away from home to square off against Fitchburg at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.54 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
