Volleyball Recap: Lake Central Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Lake Central waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Michigan City Wolves. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.

While Lake Central might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Michigan City scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Danny Smith paced Lake Central's offense, picking up 15 kills. Smith got some help from Brady Cook and his 23 assists. Smith also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Juan Flores, racking up four apiece.

Lake Central pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Michigan City, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4.

Lake Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Chesterton on the 8th. As for Michigan City, they will head out on the road to face off against Morgan Township at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
