Softball Recap: Lodi Takes Down Atwater in a Playoff Battle

Lodi had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Atwater Falcons by a score of 6-2 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Flames in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Ashlyn Jubrey made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Taylor Blank was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Lodi hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in six consecutive matchups.

Lodi's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Atwater, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-8.

Looking ahead, Lodi will take on Woodcreek at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Flames will need to watch out since the Timberwolves have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. Atwater does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
