New Manchester is 9-1 against Alexander since December of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The New Manchester Jaguar will face off against the Alexander Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, New Manchester was able to grind out a solid win over South Paulding, taking the game 59-47. Given the Jaguar's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Spartans are ranked 154th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Alexander entered their tilt with Rome on Thursday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 41-36 W against the Wolves. 41 seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Alexander found their leader in sophomore Nimah Ibidunni, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Ibidunni has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last ten times she's played. Isabella Italiano was another key player, putting up ten points.

New Manchester is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points over those games. As for Alexander, their win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8.

New Manchester came up short against Alexander in their previous matchup last Thursday, falling 41-34. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ibidunni, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds.
