Softball Recap: Delta Comes Up Short

Delta lost against Centerville back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles lost 13-2 to the Bulldogs. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caidyn Freiburger and Destinee Drown did some serious damage despite the final result: Freiburger went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI, while Drown went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was Drown's first of the season.

Delta's record now sits at 2-5. As for Centerville, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Delta will venture away from home to take on Shelbyville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Bears have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Centerville, they will host New Castle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season.
