Slaughter Community Charter has gone a perfect 4-0 against Independence recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Knights will head out to face off against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Neither Slaughter Community Charter nor Independence posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Slaughter Community Charter came up short against False River on Tuesday, falling 7-1. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Independence got themselves on the board against St. Helena College and Career Academy on Wednesday, but St. Helena College and Career Academy never followed suit. They had just enough and edged out the Hawks 1-0. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Independence now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Slaughter Community Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Everything went Slaughter Community Charter's way against Independence in their previous meeting back in March of 2019, as Slaughter Community Charter made off with a 23-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
