Basketball Recap: Panguitch Piles Up the Points Against Bryce Valley

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Panguitch's strategy against Bryce Valley on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Panguitch Bobcats blew the Bryce Valley Mustangs out of the water with a 58-25 final score. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 31 points or more this season.

Tayt Miller had a dynamite game for Panguitch, going 6 for 13 on her way to 20 points and six rebounds. Miller continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Mallory Henrie was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 15 points and eight boards.

Panguitch was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bryce Valley only posted four assists.

Despite the loss, Bryce Valley had strong showings from Grace Leech, who posted ten points, and Annabella Vasquez, who earned seven points. That was a full 40% of Bryce Valley's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Panguitch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Bryce Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Panguitch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-30 defeat against Beaver on the 24th. Bryce Valley has also already played their next match (against Wayne), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
