Baseball Recap: Cedar Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cedar won against Hurricane last Wednesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Cedar came out on top in a nail-biter against Hurricane, sneaking past 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Reds sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Cooper Payne spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed over his last five contests.

At the plate, Payton Ludlow was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Cedar picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 8-4. As for Hurricane, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Cedar will square off against rival Pine View at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hurricane is set to challenge their familiar foe Crimson Cliffs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
