Volleyball Recap: Elyria Christian Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Elyria Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past the Central Christian Cougars 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Elyria Christian has posted since October 12, 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Elyria Christian who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 18-25, 25-22.

Mallorie Jader paced Elyria Christian's offense, picking up two kills. Jader also shared the team's lead in assists with Laney Reiff: they picked up two each. Finally, Kynli Schneider kept Elyria Christian's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Elyria Christian has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Wichita HomeSchool on the 2nd. As for Central Christian, they will head out to face off against Medicine Lodge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
