Baseball Recap: Dos Palos Gets the Win

Dos Palos had won three straight at home, but on Friday they bumped up to 9-13 to make it four. They won by a run and slipped past the Coalinga Horned Toads 2-1. This was payback for the Broncos, who suffered a 7-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Trevin Vincent spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Dos Palos' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 7-12 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gilbert Ramirez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025.

As for Coalinga, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Coalinga's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Martin, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Dos Palos wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 23-0 victory against Avenal on the 28th. As for Coalinga, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-4 defeat against Firebaugh on the 28th.
