Baseball Game Preview: Chattanooga Christian Chargers vs. Hixson Wildcats

The Chattanooga Christian Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Hixson Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chattanooga Christian is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

On Monday, Chattanooga Christian came up short against Silverdale Academy and fell 8-5.

Devin Dobson was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Hixson faced off against Red Bank on Tuesday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since March 26th.

Hixson's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chattanooga Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-13.

Chattanooga Christian couldn't quite get it done against Hixson when the teams last played back in April of 2023 as they fell 8-4. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
