Basketball Recap: Sherwood Takes a Loss

Sherwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Holden Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 41-29 defeat back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Sherwood saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kiah Felton dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Felton is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lyah Powell, who posted three points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Sherwood's defeat dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Holden, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-14.

As of now, neither Sherwood nor Holden have any future games scheduled.
