Basketball Game Preview: Conneaut Spartans vs. St. John Fighting Herald

The Conneaut Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the St. John Fighting Herald at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Conneaut has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with 17 straight losses, while St. John will come in with three straight wins.

Conneaut came up short against Grand Valley on Tuesday, falling 71-50. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 734th, while the Mustangs are ranked 348th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. John). They blew past Lordstown, posting a 90-59 victory.

Conneaut's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for St. John, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Conneaut came up short against St. John when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 72-63. Can Conneaut avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
