The Catalina Foothills Falcons are taking a road trip to challenge the Sunnyside Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Catalina Foothills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

Catalina Foothills will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Buena on Monday. Catalina Foothills skirted past Buena 10-8. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won three in a row.

Nate Shoemaker was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Jeong, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Catalina Foothills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Sunnyside suffered their biggest defeat since March 20, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against Salpointe Catholic, falling 7-1. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost six in a row.

Sunnyside's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Catalina Foothills, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Catalina Foothills was able to grind out a solid win over Sunnyside in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Catalina Foothills since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
