Preview: Cactus Cobras vs. Thunderbird Titans
Two dominant forwards in Bradey Henige and Paris Strozier jr are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Cactus Cobras will head out on the road to square off against the Thunderbird Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cactus has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,116 points over their last 16 matchups.
Cactus put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 72-52 margin over Agua Fria. 72 seems to be a good number for Cactus as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Thunderbird came tearing into Wednesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Greenway 57-33. Thunderbird has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.
Cactus is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Thunderbird, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-5.
Cactus and the Titans were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but the Cobras came up empty-handed after a 64-63 loss. Can Cactus avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
