Baseball Recap: Pacifica Wins Going Away Against Oxnard

Pacifica barely beat Oxnard the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tritons never let the Yellowjackets get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Friday. The matchup marked the Tritons' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Not much got past Izaiah Hernandez, who gave up just a hit to keep Oxnard off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Riley Ortega, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dario Navarro, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Pacifica always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pacifica is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Oxnard, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
