Vina is 1-9 against Cherokee since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Red Devils will be playing at home against the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Vina will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Vina will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Covenant Christian, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Red Devils came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 11-7 on Monday. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Lana Bell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Vina got a massive performance out of Braxtyn Quinn, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those three runs gave Quinn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Elrod, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cherokee). They never let Sheffield get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won seven in a row.
Like Vina, Cherokee also got a great game from a two-way player: Libby Collum. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Collum was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Cherokee let Emily Crocker and Tatum Lockett run wild. Crocker scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Lockett went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Lockett snagged this season. A'Kaiya Spencer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Cherokee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Vina's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Cherokee, their victory bumped their record up to 9-16.
