It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Triad ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Jersey Panthers 5-4. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Triad secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Syd Horn, who went 1-for-5 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Horn has launched this season.

Horn wasn't the only one making solid contact: Triad kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jersey only managed six hits.

Triad's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-5. As for Jersey, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1.

Coming up, Triad will face off against Highland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Jersey, they will host Mascoutah at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
