Basketball Game Preview: Capitan Tigers vs. Lordsburg Mavericks

The Capitan Tigers will square off against the Lordsburg Mavericks at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Capitan is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Capitan took a blow against Mountainair, falling 67-34.

Meanwhile, Lordsburg came up short against Cobre on Thursday and fell 60-49. The Mavericks haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Lordsburg's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Capitan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Capitan came up short against Lordsburg in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 60-53. Can Capitan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
