Softball Game Preview: Lake Ridge Eagles vs. North Crowley Panthers

The Lake Ridge Eagles will venture away from home to take on the North Crowley Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Crowley took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Ridge, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Lake Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Mansfield, taking the game 8-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Lailah Murray made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia Harper, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ryan Roberts, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, North Crowley fell victim to Mansfield Legacy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Broncos, falling 17-0. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win got Lake Ridge back to even at 6-6. As for North Crowley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9-1.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lake Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .414.
