Baseball Game Preview: Morton Ranch Mavericks vs. Mayde Creek Rams

For the second straight game, Morton Ranch will face off against Mayde Creek. The Mavericks will face off against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Morton Ranch is on a six-game streak of home losses, and Mayde Creek a 16-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck.

Having struggled with 13 defeats in a row, Morton Ranch turned things around against Mayde Creek on Tuesday. They never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.

Not much got past Zach Warren, who gave up just four hits to keep Mayde Creek off the board. Warren also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Morton Ranch is 4-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-16 otherwise.

At the plate, Morton Ranch's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maximus Padilla, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Morton Ranch's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 6-18. As for Mayde Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16-1.
