Softball Game Preview: Desert Oasis Diamondbacks vs. Chaparral Cowboys

Desert Oasis is a perfect 3-0 against Chaparral since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Diamondbacks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cowboys at 3:30 p.m. Desert Oasis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Desert Oasis' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Las Vegas as they made off with a 17-0 victory. The Diamondbacks have beaten the Wildcats the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Kaitlyn Dunigan was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Vida Torres, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Dunigan wasn't the only one making solid contact: Desert Oasis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The Diamondbacks are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Chaparral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 19-1 to Foothill. That's two games in a row now that the Cowboys have lost by exactly 18 runs.

Desert Oasis now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Chaparral, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything went Desert Oasis' way against Chaparral when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Desert Oasis made off with a 19-0 win. Do the Diamondbacks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cowboys turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
