Baseball Game Preview: Montville Mustangs vs. Randolph Rams

For the second straight game, Montville will face off against Randolph. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Montville has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 10.

On Monday, Montville didn't have quite enough to beat Randolph and fell 5-4.

For Randolph's part, they got a great performance from John Debruckner as he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Debruckner a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Mason Wilson was excellent, going 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. He has become a key player for Randolph: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one home run, but 8-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Chase Lorent, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Montville's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Randolph, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-12.
