Baseball Game Preview: Cheney Blackhawks vs. Shadle Park Highlanders

The Cheney Blackhawks will head out on the road to face off against the Shadle Park Highlanders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cheney is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

On Friday, Cheney came up short against Ridgeline and fell 6-1.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Shadle Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against University by a score of 7-2 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Highlanders as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Roland Germain spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Shadle Park is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 5-8 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Drew Sanchez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Porter Case also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Shadle Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Cheney's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Shadle Park, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
